The Government provides additional funding to support schools in raising attainment for children who are eligible for free school meals, or who are in the care of the local authority and also for expenditure on improving the quality of sports and PE for all children.

This funding is split into what is known as Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) and Sports & PE Premium Funding.
